like Digg before it, HN can be easily easily gamed

you have sizable groups of people who work like one team, one person submits and others up vote

In the Digg days I was approached by some guys in Eastern Europe who offered to get me diggs for $$. I declined. I was hoping HN is harder to game, but I don't see any evidence that support that.

Obama and Hillary made a huge error in judgment by siding with a fascist. It's amazing how we haven't gotten ourselves in deep sh!t already given how badly our leaders judge situations. But maybe we have, and we just don't know it yet.

I feel your pain man. They're a lot of insecure posers out there who would like to show you that they know more than you do. And often fail miserably at proving their point.

Yeah the world is full of idiots in charge. If someone is "in charge" then they are most likely idiots. It's the statistical truth. Look at the world today? Who can claim thag over population and a melting planet is progress? The world is run by idiots. Did I stress that enough? :)

The very idea of trying to control quality of anything complex (work, life, relationships, economy, etc) via some extremely shallow and arbitrary test is the most idiotic idea ever yet it is practiced on such a wide scale. The world is run by idiots.

Title is terribly missing which country you're talking about. Most here would assume the US, in which case the title would have more audience. So while I understand the intent is to have more audience, the integrity of communication is lost.

The web I want has real security, not "HTTPS Everywhere" that provides clear text access to nation states while providing a false sense of security.
