You can always add CloudFlare in front of it. They also provide free SSL certificates.

Definitely! Not something we could have done properly in 48 hours though :)

on: Show HN: Goad – AWS Lambda powered load testing tool
A test that would use 100 lambda functions in parallel from each of the 4 regions and run for 5 minutes would cost about 3 USD. That should achieve a concurrency level of 100,000. That would be the most expensive test possible at the moment. Smaller tests are basically free.

on: Ask HN: What would you like to see in a mobile ad network?
You can sign up on our website to be contacted when you can start using the iOS SDK:
http://www.adtile.meThere's a Reservations button at the end of that page.
Number 3 is something we're working on really hard to match the app's content with ads without requiring too much effort from the developer when using our SDK.
Let us know on the Reservations form a little about your app and we'll get back to you!

on: Show HN: Learned iOS, launched Photopoll
After trying to learn iOS, and OS X programming before that, I finally decided to make it my full time job. No more excuses for not having time, and no loss of focus either. Six months and many iterations later, Photopoll got approved yesterday and is finally on the app store. After years of Ruby development, I find Objective-C to be a very refreshing change.

Author here. You are absolutely right! I just updated the blog post and used bcherry's solution. `rel="internal"` is indeed not standardized.

on: KickStarter project: a multi mapping JS client-side clustering library
As someone who has been working on clustering map markers on top of Google Maps, I have to say that doing it with a quadtree algorithm is extremely simple.

Absolutely! I can't see your email on your profile (not enough karma I guess) but mine starts with joao@ and the rest you can guess from the service.

on: Utopia: USB power sockets on every wall
I recently stayed at a US hotel that had a couple of USB ports for charging devices. Since I don't like having to buy even more adapters just for travelling abroad, being able to charge all my devices at the same time was pretty handy. Are USB ports in hotels common in the US?

on: Introducing Snowfinch: open source realtime web analytics
At the moment there isn't much value except for it looking nice. However, once I implement referrers properly, it's good to see where traffic is coming from. When it comes from a discussion you are still not too late to act.
Also, having an API call that returns the trending content of the site can be used on the site itself.

I like the stability of ActiveRecord. It was also to show that it's very easy to use the Ruby MongoDB driver just for some data. I have thought about changing it in the future to use only MongoDB, but not just yet.

Glad you like it!
I'm sorry to hear that the site doesn't render properly on Firefox 3.0. We are using @font-face and the Pictos icon set for the icons, and only newer browsers support it.
Here's what it actually looks like: http://skitch.com/jcxplorer/d5hdh/splendid-bacon
