Me too! Had a little less time than I'd have liked, so I started in Burgos instead of St Jean Pied de Port. Nonetheless, it was an amazing experience. Finisterre might have been one of the prettiest places I've ever been to.

It is well known that the anti-meat and anti-animal-fat propaganda was funded by the sugar industry in the 1960s. Although I'm currently on a carnivore diet and finally seeing some health benefits after a long time experimenting and battling with debilitating health issues, I would not promote it either. The bottom line is that with the intense lobbying from both sides of the discourse, we've drifted really far from the original intention of nutritional science – to understand how our body processes foods and what nutrition will lead to best health outcomes. Fundamentally, I just want to do the best for my body and will gladly switch my diet at any point given enough data and consensus.

This is tough to do when certain groups are directly benefiting from you not being in an optimal health. At this point I've resorted to experimenting on myself and trusting my gut, body and instincts when it comes to food. Also, reading smaller, hopefully-independent studies looking at certain micronutrients and their utilization – it's quite interesting to look at Vitamin A vs beta-carotene, ALA to DHA and EPA conversion, anti-nutrients and many more.

I'm pretty sure you've already looked into this but I couldn't scroll past without dropping in my thoughts; feel free to ignore them. I'm dealing with similar problems as a post-covid sequelae, in my early 20s with debilitating problems and also having to get to the root cause myself as doctors are clueless. Have you had your gut microbiome tested (with zonulin + IgA + parasites, fungi and viruses)? If so, feel free to plug it into cfsremission.com to see if something pops out. Oral microbiome and health? SIBO test? Candida? Immunological check up? ANA? EBV or other latent viruses reactivation? Elimination diet / carnivore? You could also try FMT if all else fails (either expensive at a clinic or DIY at home). Good luck man, you're stronger than most of us.

Well, this sucks. I'm waiting for medicine to be delivered to continental Europe from Scotland through Royal Mail. Apparently their international packages are being delayed by a lot right now. Really hope this doesn't affect the operations too much and they'll be able to continue delivering in full capacity ASAP.

Would love to try this, however it seems like the Firefox add-on is not available unfortunately. I've already tried the alternatives (tridactyl, vimium), but did not really like them enough to keep them installed. Seems like with wasavi, you can selectively launch vim interface for a text field whenever you feel like it, which was something I missed with the other solutions (or I haven't looked deep enough back then). Anyone managed to run wasavi on firefox by any chance?

kiko123 | 3 years ago | on: Ask HN: How to deal with burnout and its consequences?

+1, there's so much more that may be going on 'under the hood'. Thanks for mentioning ME/CFS and Long Covid. Recently had to quit my job and postpone starting my university studies due to what I (and my doc) suspect to be a pretty severe case of Long Covid. Previously diagnosed with ADHD too, however I do have my own thoughts on that, especially among the rather young demographic I belong.

Bottom line is, I have arrived at a point where I can no longer power through or treat the symptoms only. Finding a root cause and healing myself is all I do right now. Even though I'm very young, I've successfully ignored all the warning signs before _something_ took me out completely. I consider it a great lesson, albeit the toughest one I've ever gotten by far. Here's to our healing.

Been recently struggling with health and having a lot of time on my hands, I have gotten more into meditation. I like the way these thoughts of yours are going. While learning who 'I' am and who I am not might be a part of our introspective journey, are there any books you could recommend looking into as to support the practice of mindfulness and meditation?
