To be fair, the comment was downvoted, which I accept, but if you disagree with something it's perfectly valid to voice that disagreement. If Karma is a measure of the validity of an opinion, HN becomes a meritocracy.

Did anyone else find this article to be meandering waffle that has no bearing to anything else on HN? I fear the airplane toilet incident has inspired a host of chemists to start posting on hacker news, creating a subculture.

And yes, I'm totally expecting someone to point to the HN posting guidelines that state that anything that may be of interest to geeks is appropriate...

1. Are there any popular apps that consist of a single page?

2. What is the most lucrative single page app out there?

Not quite the same, but a few years ago I met an HCI professor who had started his career as a male nurse and had worked his way up through the academic system.

This is really great.

A massive limitation of Parse.com is with their Javascript SDK - you have to expose your app keys to the client and the SDK doesn't work at all on any version of IE unless you have SSL enabled.

This is awesome, the Atari 2600 was my first ever 'computer' and I still can remember the thrill of finding and playing a new game (and of course blowing into the cartridge to get the game to load :) )

Its limited by todays standard, which makes me excited to think about the technologies we use today that will be obsolete in 20 years time.

Kudos for the apology, unfortunately it took for this to go to the top of Hacker News before an apology arrived.

m2mapps | 13 years ago | on: Ask HN: How to use $10,000 for max 1 yr ROI?

It depends on the risk you want to take:

Super high-risk: go to freelancer.com / elance and pay a freelancer to build the next top-grossing app.

Low risk, low return: Open a savings account, although with interest rates lower than inflation, you'll probably lose money in real terms.

m2mapps | 13 years ago | on: Ask HN: Why is it so hard finding a Freelancer?

It may be that your idea is not feasible - I commonly get requests for ideas that are just not worth investing time and effort in.

Cost is another factor - what is your budget, have you made that clear in your emails?

How are you locating these people?

12 people isn't that many, keep trying and hopefully this thread will get you the right person.

My first question is... why would you want to do this?
