I've been using something like this for the Unity game I'm working on where I need regular updates. However, I don't think it let me use 14 numbers in the major field. So I've stuck with something along the lines of <year>.<month>.<date>-<hours*60+minutes> to better saturate. It's nice to know there's a standard for this though.

on: Show HN: Remove-bg – open-source remove background using WebGPU
I've tried many different background removal algorithms and found that InSPyReNet has been the most successful one. I use `transparent-background` on pip a whole bunch and it rarely fails on me compared to remove-bg and whatnot

on: OpenVPN & WireGuard server at GitHub Actions: representative NAT traversal case
GitHub actions is too good to be true, or rather it's part of Microsoft's eee model embracing and extending the platform before extinguishing it with more paid plans. It's stuff like this that'll eventually make them decide to do it. Although this is super neat, it's just so important to remember never to get too invested into Microsoft things if you're not willing to pay into it later. Idk things like Google photos. GitLab is not doing well, there's no way GitHub could keep actions up for free. Maybe if income from elsewhere can keep paying for it, but anyway... actions is such a mixed bag of feelings for me.

It gets even weirder when there's a room behind the mirror that you include in the photogrammetry scan

on: Docker-openvpn-client, lets containers use VPN
I've been doing this with Wireguard and Mullvad VPN for containers hosting users that can't always be trusted. E.g. low latency shared desktop with browser. I've had people watch pirated content on my servers without my knowledge.

Aren't you supposed to use "Sign in with Google" or which ever service to prove to the app that you own your unique id (e.g. email)? If you want Google APIs, then that's a completely different scope here.

on: Athanos 3D: Viewpoint-dependent 3D on existing screens
I mean, I've been working in VR for years and it's really not that hard to stick a Vive tracker on a pair of 3D glasses. But what if you wanted 2 or more people to look at the same screen?
This is why I think things like Looking Glass or Google's Project Starline (probably using something similar to Looking Glass) seem more interesting. Though I haven't gotten to play with one yet and they're much more intensive to run than something like this.

The logo on their website doesn't load properly for me. My machine doesn't have the font "LucidaGrande" and if they read this, make sure you outline your text before exporting!
