AFAIK ‚let‘ was removed from the language, for me it‘s a big turn-off that the Python compatibility aspect has such a high priority. Or did I overlook something?

olaf | 3 years ago | on: Disallusioned with Julia anyone got thoughts on Carbon?

I didn't find a solution to read in a .png-file and iterate over the rows and in every row over the columns, is the low level stuff somehow hidden? Found some higher level stuff libraries here and there, but if it's not easy to do some low level operations, the language would be useless for me.

what do I learn from that? I will not talk with a Microsoft representative before they pay me at least 5000 US$ consulting fees.

Never give them something for free, not one minute of my precious lifetime.

They seem to me as 'friendly' as the aliens in the "Mars attacks" movie.

It has LOOP and EXIT, I remember that turned out to be the most used repetition construct when I was using (IIRC) JPI Modula-2.

For me, it was so easy to think about loops that way, with an EXIT/condition in the middle of the loop body.

if humankind (best minds) is not able to build something better in every aspect today, we as a species are on the wrong trail and should change.

We already need to change a lot (carbon free and many other problem areas) and like the Apollo program was a challenge for engineering we could start an effort in the domains of architecture and arts (and maybe others) to build something better, spiritual etc. ...

I see a bike much more than a metro (passengers have almost no control) as a 'freedom-' (you can ride wherever you want) and an 'expression-of-my-will-' (when to ride and where to ride to) device.

It's not only the benefit of physical exercise which often makes riding a bike more enjoyable.
