ISO 9660 is not at all a general purpose filesystem. Although fairly trivial to reason about and implement, little and big endian systems required entirely separate structures written to disc or files would not be accessible.

Myth 2 was a popular testing media in those days due to Apple and PC endian differences. As I recall Bungie did some clever crafting on the structures to share some of the media between platforms while keeping binaries separated. Even had a fun picture of soulblighter in Finder through icon trickery.

You are all missing my point (or I did not make it clear) - the resources are there for you to burn in achieving your goals. You will never be able to deliver a product in competitive fashion compared to groups that are more willing to burn resources (with "reason") - the market simply doesn't pay for high efficiency on the desktop or in the browser

Although it's great for campfire stories I don't really see a problem. Resources are there to be used - the lesson from StarCraft is you don't horde resources to victory. I think most believe this as how many of us are writing unikernel OSs purposed built for our hand tuned assembly backends

On the body aches - standing desk that can lower to sitting height. I change back and forth throughout the day. Also keep a bokken (wooden sword) to swing and walk for periodic breaks - wife calls it my "thinking stick".

Regarding getting out of the fog - drinking is the only thing I've found to be reliable, but seldom do so during the week

Non-white and grew up with a very religious background - even lived in a religious commune-like environment for a few years. The current environment in the bay reminds me of those days in many ways - the incredible pressure to visibly signal virtue through study, fasting, public displays of humility, etc. It's easy to trick yourself in thinking you actually believe and this is the only way, but it quickly fades once you're out of the environment

Bees make hexagons. I've seen tons of horizontal and odd shaped burr comb that is still hexagonal - which if they were truly making circles would remain circles as there is no vertical load.

Mites have been the largest issue and will likely take decades for the genetics to select out for an uneasy balance. In the mean time, the commercial guys can't keep doing business as usual and have to cleanup their act - they had a nice free ride for a while
