It also names Miguel de Icaza as a similarly important character, it was in 2000 because gnome, event considering Mono as an important technology nowadays, it's not as significative or critical as Gnome was back then.

Edit: wording.

Nice discovery! Now scifi/horror movies can stop using the "I have no reception for no reason" and use helium somewhere in the plot.

rlopezcc | 7 years ago | on: Ask HN: What do you consider resume red flags?

Yeah, do I have a domain name and used my own domain with gmail. But it sounds volatile to me, if (for some reason) I lose my domain I'd miss a good part of my communications. Thanks for your advice, I'll see what I can do.

I normally use an outlook email because I can have username@outlook instead of user.name2392.stuff@gmail, also outlook advertisement is less intrusive.

I'm under the impression that it turns recruiters away, can this be right?

[Edit]: Yes/No is enough, no need to downvote.

QBasic was my first programming experience.

Back in 2008 I bought a computer for 50 uruguayan pesos (around 2 dollars), Pentium MMX and 32MB of ram. It didn't boot W98 because the hard drive was corrupted.

It did load MsDOS and I found Qbasic using the help command.

I didn't have internet so I used to go to the internet cafe with a floppy disk and download tons of tutorials in plain text to read with EDIT.EXE

Now I've been working as a software developer for almost five years and love it, all thanks to QBasic and that old cheap computer.

I was really disappointed when noticed they didn't have a way to report bugs. They had some kind of "Suggestions box", so I used that to report mine: Images wouldn't upload correctly when the chat room name started wih a slash (/dev/null in my case). They deleted the ticket and a few days later it was magically fixed.

You will find pretty annoyed people if you search for "report hipchat bug".
