Cached webpages have pretty much been dead since the pandemic, at least from my usage in the last few years.
There used to be a prominent cache link under the search results, then it moved to a weird overflow menu thing, and then finally about a year or more ago, Google exposed no cache version for most websites. This just seems like confirmation.
Still really shitty. I used it constantly. I hate new Google.

I'm pretty sure last time I checked, Gmail supported IMAP's IDLE[1] extension just fine. I get instant notifications on Mail.app.

One thing that people forget: "LTE" stands for "Long-Term Evolution". It was built in to the name that the technology and stack is what we would consider a draft.

Second that. I was emailing back and forth all last week due to some tricky bind-related rDNS issues on an ipv6 issued 64 block.
While I do wish they built out features faster (their new beta console which seems to have actually dropped features, and things like CertBot plugins for LetsEncrypt wildcard DNS updates), the support is fantastic.
They are always are polite and ready to help, even if the issue turned out to be a misconfiguration problem on my end.
Long live Linode.

You didn't mention your operating system, which to me is important, as there's nothing like the response and feel of a native application - especially when editing a document.

Most likely this is one of their pagerank (?) servers that Google sold to business customers way back in the day.
