>You’re creating a twisted, unrealistic example.

Imagine here is a terrible earthquake and many people need blood transfusion to survive. You happen to have the blood type O negative and know it can be used to save lives. You go to the donation center and right before the needle goes in, you panic and change your mind.

The same day a woman has a miscarriage because of trauma from the earthquake and a lack of emergency blood transfusion. Did you murder that child?

It was later revealed that this woman was 12 years old and raped by her father, but the miscarriage was judged suspicious by the authorities and are charging her with murder.

After all people who get pregnant made that decision. Pregnancy can be stopped prior to impregnation. She probably changed her mind and faked getting hurt in the earthquake. Also if she's a murderer, it's not a stretch to assume she's also a liar. She lied about her father and probably got pregnant by seducing one of her male friend.

Remember people, a child is dead! We have to investigate.

Let's assume the thing growing inside the womb is a child.

Imagine a person you've never met. They will die if not for a miraculous treatment that requires some of your blood everyday for 9 months. But for the treatment to work, it also requires that everyday the person blood is mixed in your body. There is a small chance you'll die because of this treatment.

Should we force you to accept the treatment or should you have the option to not do it?

If you refuse the treatment and the person dies, would it be fair to equate you to a murderer?

The way you write feels like English isn't your first language. Sorry if I'm wrong, French is my native language. But in case you had to learn English, you need to understand that you had the time, resources and intelligence to learn it to a very proficient degree. This isn't true for everyone. The parents you're calling obese and ignorant, they might be a bit like you in that they don't want to use their time to learn something they don't really have to and rather spend time with their children. Older folks usually had very poor English education at school if any and consumed zero English media, unlike a kid today with access to the Internet.

Also in many countries, teachers and hospital workers, amongst other professions, are government workers. You calling them usually lazy people is insulting and ignorant.

Snail mail is still scanned for illicit content. Also many times in western history letters were read and then possibly censored at processing facilities. Back in those days, it was a human opening letter/package and inspecting the content. They had rules to respect the privacy of the sender/addressee, like not sharing the content with anyone else if the content is OK.

I'm not sure who considered these services to be one of the most private.

Also in those days, one could make use of a secure private mail service, bypassing the normal processing facilities and have grantee that the letter remained sealer the whole journey. To be even more secure, basic encryption could be used, or even invisible ink.

Today, things just got more sophisticated.

Maybe you don't care, but I care and so do many people. I'd argue you should also care.

Knowing where the money comes from is fundamental is so many aspect of our society.

Getting a loan from a bank will require you to disclose some information about your money getting activities. Why? First to make sure nothing illegal is going on, and second to make sure you will be able to pay back the loan.

Running your political campaign will require you to disclose how it's financed. Again why? Because people realized long ago that you don't bite the hand that is feeding you or something. Meaning you should expect a strong bias by that politician for their backers.

And so why care about a public figure getting money from the Koch Industries? Because it adds a crucial information on how to process the opinions coming out of that public figure.

Yes it's possible that the source of money doesn't affect anything, but it's also highly possible that it does and many times it does, so why not care about it?

The chain of events:

Step 1: Tweak settings and type text

Step 2: Look at the result

Step 3: If you like the result, go to step 4, otherwise go back to step 1.

Step 4: Save and share the result

Feels like art to me. Ultimately it's still a human using a tool to create art. For me AI art is just the name of the art style.

After further examination of the cat pictures, I do agree with you. I still prefer the dog website design and it has better performance on my machine than the cat one (the scrolling is laggy on FF).

If choose to not make any money and own nothing, you pay no taxes. You can also "just move lol" to another country where there is no taxation.

>tax evasion is simply a moral obligation for everyone who believes that people should not be subject to violence.

Some people should definitely be subjected to violence. It's not hard to find examples where violence is justified. Even a Buddhist monk will forcefully stop a child from touching a venomous snake and make the child cry.

You don't enter life voluntarily, you don't go to school voluntarily, you don't go to the hospital voluntarily when you fell on your head, become unconscious and slowly bleed out...

That's a great requirement imo. For short term stay, we already have hotels, hostels and regular BnBs. Apartments and houses should be reserved for long term stay and regulated accordingly.

The original idea of AirBnB was to easily rent your couch or guest room for a few nights and I think regulations should be made to keep it this way.

A subscription usually imply you lose access to the software when the subscription ends, which is not the case here.

What utility? In the Funded work section of the article, I don't see anything that web3 is making more useful or that could not be done without it.

I hope they simply cash out the fund they received and implement none of the IPFS crap.

On April 1, 2021, the date of the archive.org article mentioned in this f-droid article, FIL jumped literally to its all time high. The 50,000 FIL archive.org received was then worth $7,965,000. Today, the same 50,000 FIL are worth $919,500.

It's almost like it's all about speculation and the actual utility is making early investor rich.

They're just stating facts. Good or bad, antidepressants help people cope with life just as opioid help people deal with physical pain. Chronic usage can become a problem, but short term usage is unquestionably beneficial for many people.

Sometimes your mental state is so bad you can't make any decision or improve your current situation. Maybe you're working during the day and dealing with your family the rest of the time and feel stuck and sinking. Antidepressants can help dissipate the fog in your mind, allowing you to think clearly and actually make the decisions you needed to make and improve your live to a point where they are not needed anymore. You also talk with the doctor prescribing the drugs, if it's not improving how you feel they will suggest other solutions.

Also I totally agree with parent. Decent material conditions and the knowledge that they are stable are absolutely needed for a healthy and flourishing mind.
