cloudkite.io | SRE / Software Engineer / CTO? | Austin, TX (for at least the next 6 months, then remote if you want) | contract or Full-Time (preferred)

Cloudkite.io is a kubernetes services and software engineering company. This position is a 50/50 split of SRE/DevOps for our clients and also working on building our internal tooling (which are awesome and will be open sourced). Because we work with clients on a wide variety of software, I am looking for T-shaped individuals.

This is what we work on:

  - linux
  - networking
  - docker
  - kubernetes (or the ability to pass the CNCF CKA exam within 3 months -https://www.cncf.io/certification/expert/)
  - python
  - golang
  - bash
  - js (nice to have)
Emails containing a link to a PR where you fixed a bug or added reasonable documentation to an open source project would be highly considered.

cloudkite.io | https://cloudkite.io | Austin, TX, Remote OK | Contract or Full-time

I'm the founder of cloudkite.io. We help companies build best-breed, fully automated infrastructure.

I'm looking to hire great infrastructure engineers (devops/SRE) to work on client projects as well as build internal tools that will be used by all of our clients (roughly 50/50 split). Tech we use and support: python, golang, node, docker, kubernetes, mesos, and jenkins.

vtrac | 15 years ago | on: My weekend project: sbit3, a pastebin for files.

That's more or less the idea, but sbit3 also allows you to easily share the file with others. If you need to share your file, just IM someone the link. At work, I'll often need to get a file to someone who doesn't have access to a server or I'll need to get a file to more than one person.

vtrac | 15 years ago | on: My weekend project: sbit3, a pastebin for files.

I wrote this because I often need to get a file (e.g. a log file) from an internal system in production to my laptop. I would have to upload to an intermediate server and then have to log into the intermediate server to download my file. Now it's 'sbit3 file' and then I simply just curl the file down on my laptop.

Comments (and merge requests!) welcome. :) I'd also love to hear about what other use cases you guys can think of.

vtrac | 15 years ago | on: Ask HN: I'm renovating a house, what clever stuff should I build in?

This thread just cost me $400 since I just ordered everything to do heated floors in my new bathroom I'm installing. For about $9/sqft, I bought Warmwire and a programmable thermostat. The installation looks super simple too.

I live in Austin, so there's only a few months out of the year that this will be useful, but I can only imagine how glorious it will be to walk barefoot on warm tile in the winter. :)

They're labeling them "pirates" so that the MPAA and the RIAA will get on the case. Those guys are relentless.

vtrac | 16 years ago | on: Ask HN: Who's hiring (take 3)?

Bazaarvoice, voted the best place to work in Austin, is hiring. We dominate the user generated content space. Email me for details.
