on: Ask HN: I hate gym. How to stay in shape?
biking to and from the work if possible (~2hr per day), easiest way to stay in shape and not wasting your time

on: Ask HN: What are some “10x” software product innovations you have experienced?
I have an 0.1x example, every os is using a file explorer instead of orthodox file manager like "total commander"

on: Consume less, produce more
dito, don't we have enough producers of cloths, they are even customizable.
and not only cloths, do we need 10+ car manufacturers? millions brands of beverages, beers, etc.

on: Ask HN: Programs that saved you 100 hours?
total commander .. orthodox file manager, I dont understand why this is not a built-in file manager for any os. I just want to find and organize stuff, I dont want to manage windows.

on: Why we've never fallen in love with virtual reality
the killer VR-app for me was racing simulation but it is a very niche market. and way too expensive for most people
VR-Goggles,
high-end PC,
good steering wheel (G27 at minimum)
racing seat,
... and ideally dedicated room for the setup
it was great fun (did it for 2 years) but got rid of it because it consumed too many hours

on: Thoughts On a Year of Exercise
it's my personal preference but bike-commuting seems like the optimum for people who are overweight, don't have time and lack motivation. you lose weight, learn more about your local area, learn more about human psychology, you can listen to your favourite podcast/audiobook, don't have to pay for gym membership/gas to drive to te gym, and it's better for your knees

> I don't see many of these car companies surviving another 15 years
especially BMW, they are a very conservative brand. their whole culture revolves around old money, do they understand the future? do they care?

on: Every Vehicle Should Have an Electric Motor, Even If It Doesn’t Have a Plug
Obvious improvements for traffic in terms of aerodynamics:
* Get rid of side mirrors (legislation is the biggest challenge here)
* Adaptive body elements
* Less powered cars (less powered >> less need for removing the heat >> better aerodynamics)
* disincentivize SUVs
