I don't think that most people misunderstand the power of remote working. I work from home 99% of the time, but it is nice having the flexibility to go into the office when necessary. People also develop networks (professional and personal) during the time it might take to turn something into a remote opportunity and it is hard to separate from that.

No I think the tragedy of the commons would still take hold in SF without some kind of penalty in place (either by the company or by the government, or both) for leaving the bike in a bad spot. Of course this will require a method of enforcement as well.

I think it's more likely that they bought the domain to prevent scammers from trying to bait users onto a fake site and enter login info, and since they have it why not redirect traffic.

Interesting argument. I think most readers will have a different perspective, especially with cloud backup. But there is reassurance in the physical.
