Dressing nice, clean and decent is different from dressing according to the latest fashion trends. Get people to respect you for who you are, if they don't, Do you want to care about them ? do you want such people to dictate your life?

What he needs is the "big picture".

This can be acquired in several ways, depending on the personality of the person, from what I have seen.

So a few different things:

Recently, I saw a good talk by MindValley CEO, http://www.mindvalley.com/goal-setting-redefined#sthash.aYjq...

Basically, the mind is what feels "stuck" or anything for that matter, so anything you can do to calm the mind will help you to see a change. The time-tested approach is Meditation.

Another one, thinking and doing something for others beyond your immediate family without any returns - whether it is for those in your community or the other side of the world.

Hope this helps.

I love this idea but don't like the idea of paying. How about instead of paying money for the meal, have an option where you can host the hosts in return at your place.

May be this doesn't belong in this app or may be it does..

It works the other way around. Be who you are first.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

You are right, Universities provide that "appeal" but going forward, that won't matter anymore. Things just will change as people start realizing that that is shallow and start placing importance on gaining knowledge itself. The appeal then would be, how much you know, your expertise rather than where you went to school at. It is evolving and will continue to accelerate and the state of the economy will act as a catalyst. IMO.

Considering this, I think it is a good move, "He said the decision, ultimately, was to help prevent his company from following the path of Solyndra, which exhausted nearly all of its loan money on a high-tech solar manufacturing plant in Freemont, California. "
