Another terrible Coinbase story. A bug in their backend caused a transaction to go through to my bank account, withdraw funds, but not credit me coins.

Contacting support yielded no results at all. I had to go through my bank, close my account (which is a nightmare in itself), and get the money refunded via the bank's fraudulent ACH reversal process.

I would not trust this company.

Philz Coffee (at least the one at Golden Gate and Larkin) has this. Before you can access any non-HTTPS pages you get a Facebook page with a big "Check-In" button and a very small "Skip" button.

starnix17 | 14 years ago | on: Apple rejecting applications which use Dropbox

I had a simliar rejection because of my app's Rdio integration.

If the user had Rdio installed, my app would open the song in the Rdio native app.

If the user didn't have the app installed, my app would open the song on the Rdio web site in MobileSafari. Apple didn't like this since you could purchase an Rdio subscription on that webpage bypassing the IAP and Apple's 30% cut.

For what's it worth, this was posted on a publicly accessible TextMate mailing list.

Not sure why he would think it wouldn't leak out.

Is DDG still just one person? I assume he'll be building a bigger team then right?

Very cool that this is the Philly area, hopefully he doesn't move elsewhere.

Is their DNS hacked?

From whois apple.com:

APPLE.COM.WWW.BEYONDWHOIS.COM APPLE.COM.WAS.PWNED.BY.M1CROSOFT.COM APPLE.COM.MORE.INFO.AT.WWW.BEYONDWHOIS.COM APPLE.COM.IS.OWN3D.BY.NAKEDJER.COM APPLE.COM.IS.0WN3D.BY.GULLI.COM APPLE.COM.BEYONDWHOIS.COM APPLE.COM.AT.WWW.BEYONDWHOIS.COM APPLE.COM

EDIT: This is completely false and untrue (well the DNS hack part).

SEEKING WORK / HERMAN MILLER MIRRA CHAIR

No, seriously — my current chair is awful but I can't stomach spending so much on a new fully loaded Mirra chair that I've been lusting for.

Stuff I can do in exchange for said chair:

* Native iOS development

* Native Android development

* Take your mobile site/app and make it native(ish) using PhoneGap

Take a look at my porfolio if you're interested: http://endlesswhileloop.com/portfolio/

Also, a native iOS app I just released: http://endlesswhileloop.com/apps/dial/

This offer would be good for small, one-off projects (think 10-15 hours).

Remote work only.

(Is this even legal to offer?)

starnix17 | 14 years ago | on: CBC is forcing me to remove my app from the Mac App Store

What about a paid app that's classified as simply an Internet radio player that has a huge directory of stations (similar to iTunes)?

Would that be subject to similar legal issues?

I may or may not have just released one :-).

Edit for more insight: Here's my app - http://endlesswhileloop.com/apps/dial

Some others... Snowtape - http://vemedio.com/products/snowtape_phone Radium - http://www.catpigstudios.com/

Both of these are great apps with their own built-in Internet radio directory that I assume they built on their own with or without stations' permissions.

Not really an important question, but why didn't they specify a symbol?

What are the odds he ends up at Hipmunk?

It's not mentioned at all in the post, but it seems like a lot of ex-reddit employees end up there.
